about
London based producer, DJ and composer Slumberjunkie announces new ‘Never Understand EP’ set to be released on the 20th July on Silver Bear Recordings.
After spending the last few years playing live with Ross from Friends alongside Cameo Blush, Jed aka Slumberjunkie is ready to step into the limelight, releasing music he has been nurturing over the past few years.
Jed’s music first caught the attention of Silver Bear as a demo submission and his vibrant, charismatic productions stood out from the crowd. The EP spans different tempos and styles ranging from drum and bass to dubstep, showcasing Jed’s versatility as a producer with key influences from the likes of ground-breaking artists such as Burial and Goldie.
Lead single ‘Never Understand’ is an uplifting sun-soaked track featuring Jed’s yearning vocals, and one which will no doubt see countless plays across the dance tents this summer. ‘Midnight Ariumaqua’ is a dark peak time weapon with high energy drums and reece basslines, ‘Headwind’ incorporates intricate drum programming with spoken word vocals and then EP closer ‘Leave It All Behind’ drops down in tempo using crescendo pads and swirling drums to create the perfect headphone listen.
Slumberjunkie is certainly one to watch and with this debut EP it’s easy to understand why.
lyrics
I'll never understand the way she makes me feel
Like the end of summer when the wasps have lost their minds
